Changing the text in the menu with a photo is a nice idea. A quick loading in Ajax appears the first time you load an image to prevent unpleasant effects of vacuum.

The dropdown menus in Sourcebits are drawn as metal tabs, Apple style, which contain tiny icons.

Heading in Snog web site, a brand of frozen yogurt made in UK. are entertaining. They’re  highlighted by an “abnormal” typography, as if they were  road signages. (But who knows … maybe they really are)

The search form on Kontain, a service for sharing media files online, allows you to filter the fields of research: clicking on the link everything, graphically realized as an extension of the input text, appears a menu with all the available options.

Loved the clean and fresh layout for this site that collects everything about icons: an icon for different kind of posts,  additional infos when you hover on items , a dots style paging.

Using oriented vertically texts in web. sites leaves me puzzled  I think this treatment should be reserved either in situations where the overall dimensions make it absolutely necessary or for short texts (e.g. often you see the Feedback button oriented vertically).

The language selection menu on BootB is rendered fairly special: all the options are already exploded, instead of being enclosed in a drop down menu.

I like Uncover, especially as they present post tags.  I’ve been misled by the thumb icon: I thought  it was abutton to vote (are we so faceboook-dependent?) but it simply indicates the karma of the item.

It’ quite an idea to customize standard buttons (mail, Skype,credential) by adding an element of the logo (in this case the letter F).

Meme’s home page, a Portuguese microblogging platform launched by Yahoo.  It’s quite obvious the replacement of Twitter bird with a small dog.
